History of the Wheels on the Waterfront Classic Car Show

In 2012, the Wheels on the Waterfront Committee was formed with the purpose of creating and hosting a first‐rate classic car show along the Everett waterfront on the first Saturday after Labor Day weekend each year. Founding members Jim Weber – Port of Everett, Lauren Bivins – owner of Harbor Marine and Daun Brown – Volunteer Coordinator, formed the Wheels on the Waterfront Committee and established it as an unofficial 501c3 non‐profit charity dedicated to raising funds for Providence General Foundation’s: Cancer Patient’s Assistance Fund. With the Port of Everett Marina as our host site the event continues to grow in size and scope each year and is fast becoming one of the premier and fun car shows in the Pacific Northwest.

  • 2012 ‐ 95   cars, 1500 in attendance, $1,700 to cancer patient fund
  • 2013 ‐ 215 cars, 2500 in attendance, $6,600 to cancer patient fund
  • 2014 ‐ 325 cars, 3500 in attendance, $9,000 to cancer patient fund

In addition to raising funds for Providence General Foundation’s: Cancer Patient’s Assistance Fund, the event highlights and promotes the Port of Everett Marina District and waterfront businesses, as well as, Everett and Snohomish County area businesses. Event highlights include: beer garden, distillery tours, live radio, live music, a variety of food and other vendors, charity drawings and prizes, former cancer fund speakers and more than 300 classic cars judged in 24 categories with trophies awarded to the winners in each classification. The event is free to the public with more than 3,000 to 4,000 people attending annually.

The Wheels on the Waterfront organization has a set of by‐laws with rotating officers. Harbor Marine handles all registration and record‐keeping. Our non‐profit bank account is with Columbia Bank in Everett. We are registered as an unofficial 501c3 and our EIN # is: 90‐0883629.

All in all, the Wheels on the Waterfront Classic Charity Car Show is a win‐win for all who participate and contribute, including the Port of Everett Marina, local area businesses and contributors, sponsors, vendors, car show participants, those who attend and most importantly, the Providence Foundation’s work in helping and supporting cancer patients and their families.
